Switching to static blogs such as Pelican (this blog), Hugo or others has lots of advantages, one major disadvantage is friction, in Setup but then in then in writing posts.
Setup takes a while (though this is one area where LLMs can really help).
There seems to be a cliche of sites whose last update is "switched to hugo" or "switched to pelican".
This site didn't have an update since 2017 for similar reasons.
Once things are working, typing things into markdown can be a barrier - even though I use markdown all the time at work, that was the case here.
Installing DeCAP CMS gets back to a UI that doesn't feel like, coding some app at work just to write an article.
